Castlehaven. March 1st 2009.

An eventful day. Neither jockey nor horse were hurt in the incident after the Novice, which turned out to be not as serious as it looked. Unrelated to this race, two jockeys were stood down for the day, having been deemed guilty of dangerous riding - again, in two separate races. Derry McCarthy had a lucky escape in a slip-up caused by interference -- we hope he won't be too stiff and sore in the morning. John McSweeney, jockey of the day, had yet another treble -- well done -- and Tim O'Leary scored a double, with Deirdre Goggin winning the remaining race.
