Dunmanway, 18th February 2007

Quite an intense day's racing. All the buzz was about next week's All-Ireland, and punters got an early jolt when red hot favourite, Blue Campari, went under to Tony's Dream in Novice. The next surprise was when Lee Dale Star proved too good for Frisco Lady. No surprise when He's The Man won the B, while Commander Matt won Grade D again. Coalford Victory impressed in the Open, Casey B gave it a good try, while Coalford James is not to be ruled out. Stoneriggs Wiseman was totally disappointing. Noreen McSweeney rode a three-timer and now heads the jockey title stakes.

Nana Moon led them off but Blue Campari had taken over by half-way. Tony's Dream kept close order and at the business end, proved too good.

Creategold led for most. Lee Dale Star gave chase, and when they got serious, Frisco Lady took over. The trotter looked to have it sewn up but Lee Dale Star, long overdue a win, reeled her in.

He's The Man was in charge from the start. Getting serious, Oreanna contended but could not close. Goldfella and Sourbrook Stanley also tried hard in the early stages. Goldfella kept at it, but neither he nor Oreannna could make any real impression.

They started out and coming in, The Punisher was in front. He made a less than facile turn which gave the advantage to Commander Matt. The grey kept that; and full marks to third place, William's Rainbow, who ran extremely well under his half-owner.

Also Ran: Just Flash (N.McSweeney), Mack's Direct (M.Duggan) -- S.P. 6/1, 1/2 Fav., 12/1, 6/1. Dist.: 1l, 3l.

Tension was palpable for this. Mack's Direct was first to show, but before long, Stoneriggs Wiseman took over. That one led them in at half-way, and rounded first, followed by Coalford Victory. When they came into view again, Coalford Victory was in front, and it was Casey B who was in hot pursuit. But there was no catching the winner
