Durrus - January 1st 2007
- Grade A: 1. J. Mycock's FIDLIN (J. Sheehy), 1/3 fav; 2. P.Hill's CASEY B (P.Hill), 6/1; 3. Shanley Racing's JUST FLASH (Noreen McSweeney), 6/1.
8 ran, nk, 4l.
- Goldfella led them off and was followed closely by Newtown Commander. At halfway this pair made bad turns and Coalford Connection got around first,
in front of Fidlin. Heading for home, Fidlin took over from Coalford Connection. But here both Casey B and Just Flash got going. Fidlin looked to have to
dig deep in the closing stages.
- Grade B: 1. J. Mycock's COALFORD JAMES (J. Sheehy), 1/2 fav; 2. C. Galvin's HILLTOP TUCK (P. O'Brien), 4/1; 3. G. Cooke's NT MARSHAL
(Noreen McSweeney), 4/1. 6 ran, 8l, 8l.
- Again, a messy turn at half-way. Sun Dancer had led until then but overshot the turn. Coalford James was right behind and had to check somewhat. NT
Marshal got around first. After the last turn, Coalford James took over from NT Marshal. Hilltop Tuck, even though he was not a close second, impressed
in this.
- Grade C: 1. Deirdre Goggin's OREANNA (Owner), 1/3 fav; 2. M. Herlihy's DO THE BUSINESS (M. Duggan), 6/4; 3. G. Cooke's DIRECT
ROCKET (Noreen McSweeney), 4/1. 3 ran, 3l,12l.
- No excitement here as Oreanna outclassed her rivals.
- Grade D: 1. J. O'Brien's EMPEROR FACTOR (J. Sheehy), 2/7 fav; 2. K. Daly's DILLY'S OASIS (M. Duggan), 3/1; 3. S.J. Jennings' LAKESIDE
GOLD (P. Hill),3/1. 4 ran, 5l, 2l.
- They started outside and Lakeside Gold led them in, but made a bad turn. Dilly's Oasis took it up but Emperor Factor was only waited with. Lakeside Gold
did well enough to get back in the hunt. Duggan's Diplomat and E.J's Design did not run.
- Grade E: 1. M. O'Brien's COMMANDER MATT (P. O'Brien), 6/1; 2. J. O'Mahony's GLAN TEIFI (Noreen McSweeney), 1/2 fav; 3. K.
Hurley/K.Santry's CELTIC DREAM (Deirdre Goggin), 6/1. 8 ran, 1/2l, 2l.
- Current Supreme was first away. It seems the turn (halfway through the mile, and outside) was messy, with Commander Matt, which had been lagging and
not affected by the fray, was able to seize the advantage. Glan Teifi made up good ground but had too much to do. Second favourite, Red Cam, finished
fifth.
- Novice: 1. L. O'Brien's CAM'S BEAUTY (Noreen McSweeney), 1/2 fav; 2. D. McCarthy's NANA MOON (D. McCarthy),1/1; 3.J. O'Sullivan's
DARKIE (P.O'Brien), 3/1. 3 ran, 1/2l, 8l.
- Darkie was first to show, but Nana Moon soon took it up. On therun-in, Cam's Beauty reeled in Nana Moon.
- Confined: 1. M. Collins's MADAM DEL SOL (P. O'Brien), 2/1; 2. B. Cronin's Chance Security (D. McCarthy), 4/5 fav. 3. A. Hamilton's EBONY
JANE (Noreen McSweeney),1/1. 5 ran, 4l, 10l.
- Chance Security was first to show, but Madam Del Sol took over as they got serious. Ebony Jane got a bad start and is probably better than this.
