Coalford James and Travis were first to show, but as they headed in for the half-way turn, Stoneriggs Wiseman was in control. Travis was in close touch and came out of that marginally in front. At the business end, Stoneriggs Wiseman was again in front; Travis re-newed his challenge but to no avail. Coalford James was always in touch with the leaders, once they had sorted themselves out, but was no match for the winner, who was impressive indeed.

Also Ran: Coalford Connection (J.O'Donovan), Gold Fella (D.McCarthy) -- S.P. 1/1, 20/1, 8/1. Dist.: 4l, 8l.

A super race!. The Blue Fox and Coalford Victory engaged in a battle royale when they had sorted themselves out (Casey B and Goldfella were prominent in the very early stages). After that, Coalford Victory seemed in charge, while The Blue Fox was slightly less fluent at the turns. Around half-way, Coalford Connection began to close on the two leaders and looked in with a real chance. On the run-in for home, Coalford Victory was in front, but The Blue Fox rallied to best his tiring rival. Well done to both for an absorbing contest.
