After the second last turn, Twenty4Seven challenged and Hello Horatio was still in with a shout. Cole's Decision rounded the last bale in front, followed by Cult Direct and by Goldfella which turned very well. On the straight, Goldfella was in charge, but was overhauled in the closing stages by the winner.

Buddy, Create Gold and Free Spirit led to the first turn, but here, Free Spirit rounded wrongly and Direct Rocket slipped up - two separate incidences. After that Matty O took over and never looked in any danger, putting in a good debut road run. Create Gold was in touch from the last and Empire Factor just shaded Duggan's Diplomat for third.

Bailey's Pease showed first briefly but Shuttle Buddy soon took command -- a position that he never showed signs of relinquishing. They went on like that with Ted Striker in third until Mass Attack took over from Ted Striker as they headed for the last. From then, Mass Attack was always travelling strongly but left himself too much to do.
