Race 1. Novice. 500 Euro (300, 100, 60, 40)

Race Time: 2.11 -- Start Time: 15.05

Also Ran: On The Run (R.Cleary) -- S.P. 4/1, 2/1, 5/1, 5/1. Dist.: Neck, 1 1/2L.

Dan The Man was first to show, but was soon headed by Sands Cool Touch. They continued like that, with Thomas Grey getting closer. When favourite, On The Run, made his effort he went off stride. At the business end, Dan The Man overhauled Sands Cool Touch and on the run in, Thomas tried to get on terms with the winner but did not.

Race 2. Novice/Improver. 500 Euro. (300, 100, 60, 40)

Race Time: 2.10 -- Start Time: 15.20

Also Ran: Robert E Lee (P.Kane Jnr), Alberta (M.Goggin)-- S.P. 4/1, evens fav, 5/1, 3/1. Dist.: 7L, 1/2L.

Merrington JR led from the start. Robert E.Lee gave chase and looked threatening but went off stride, and continued unsettled. What A Man seemed to leave his challenge late while Lakeside Gold is beginning to show more of his true form.

Race 3. Intermediate. 500 Euro (300, 100, 60, 40)

Also Ran: Enorm Girl (J.O'Donovan), Miss Dynamite (W.McKettrick), Meadowbranch Katie (M.Kelleher) -- S.P. 6/4, 5/1, 5/1, 6/1. Dist.: 1/2L, 2L.

Young Clemency led them off and as they sorted themselves out, Rebecca's Baron moved into second behind him. They continued like that, with Rebecca's Baron breaking a couple of times and losing ground. But on the straight he powered up to reel in Young Clemency while Brywins Jarvis left his effort late.

Race 4. 4 Year Old Sire Stakes. 1,500 Euro (600, 375, 225, 180, 120)

Race Time: 2.12

Also Ran: Hiltons Genius (J.McSweeney) -- S.P. 2/1, 6/4 Fav, 5/1, 2/1. Dist.: Head, 2L.

Little Spike led from the start. He was followed by Glan Teifi. Getting into the second lap, Hilton Genius challenged but went off stride. Perfect Red had been in close touch, found herself in second and began to close, but the post came too soon.

Race 5. Square Trotters. 500 Euro (300, 100, 60, 40)

Race Time: 3.25 -- Start Time: 16.05

Also Ran: Rianne Princess (D.Hourigan) -- S.P. 4/1, evens fav, 5/2, 4/1. Dist.: 3L, 1 1/2L.

Marino Bim led until about 2 from home. Early on, Victory Launcher went off stride as did Rianne Prinzes. Only Still took over as they headed for the last bend. Here, Victory Launcher broke again and slightly hampered Speedy Acktion. But Only Still had plenty in hand and well deserved her win.

Race 6. Low Grade Handicap Final. 1,200 Euro (500, 250, 200, 150, 50, 50)

Race Time: 2.10 -- Start Time: 16.35

Also Ran: 5th - Stoneriggs Quail (F.Brickley; 6th - Red Cam (R.Shanahan)-- S.P. 2/1 Joint Fav, 2/1JF, 6/1, 6/1. Dist.: 1/2L, Neck.

A tactical race with a very fast first half. Cole's Decision and Stoneriggs Quail rotated the lead, with eventually Cole's Decision gaining ascendancy. Red Cam challenged but went offf stride. Yvonne's Princess also started to move, but not in time, as Ayr Strike came in a late challenge off the back. A good one for the winner of the three year old championship and the Four Year Old SS last year, both here.

Race 7. 3 Year Old. 600 Euro (360, 120, 72, 48)

Race Time: 2.15 -- Start Time: 16.55

Also Ran: Swift Harrier (R.Cleary), Celtic Harrier (J.McSweeney) -- S.P. 1/2 Fav, 4/1, 4/1, 4/1. Dist.: 6L, Head.

Dillon's Ryan led until The Blue Finch made his move, which was on the back straight for the last time. Midnight Mover was always in touch. The first two home are more experienced than Dillon's Ryan and fourth place, Red Armbro, both having their first race.

Race 8. The Drimoleague Concrete Works All-Ireland Sulky Final. Jug of Punch Qualifying Heat.

Race Time: 2.32 -- Start Time: 14.50

Also Ran: 5th - Home at Last (J.McSweeney); 6th - The Blue Fox (P.Kane Jnr) -- S.P. 6/4, 4/5 Fav, 6/1, 14/1. Dist.: 1L, 4L, 1L.

Not a vintage All-Ireland. Stoneriggs Wizard led until the closing stages, when Tom's The Man, who had remained in second almost throughout - he was briefly headed by The Blue Fox early on - did enough to win by a length. Coalford Jet had been in third for most and was only denied that place by Newtown Commander, at the business end.

Race 9. C/D Saddle. 600 Euro (240, 180, 120, 60)

Race Time: 2.05

Also Ran: Free Spirit(D. Goggin), Atlantic (T.O'Leary), Creategold (N McSweeney), GT (M. Goggin jr), Destiny's Dream (D. McCarthy) -- S.P. 2/1, 6/1, 6/1, 5/1. Dist.: 2L, 1/2L.

Direct Glance led from flagfall. Do The Business vied hard, running the best he has so far, while The Orient Express also went very well indeed.

Race 10 A/B Saddle. 700 Euro (280, 210, 140, 70)

Race Time: 2.04

Also Ran: Mass Attack (N. McSweeney) -- S.P. Cult Direct - 6/4; Newtown Commander - evns fav; 4/1, 8/1. Dist.: Dead Heat, 5L.

Cult Direct led until going into the second lap. Disraeli Quest took it up and looked the winner, until going off stride around the penultimate bend. Here Newtown Commander looked beaten but rallied on the straight, necessitating a photo-finish.

• 4. G.Hegarty's Kicking King Cam (P.Kane, jr), 4/1. hd, hd. Also ran, Crookhaven Lady, OC, Duggan's Jester
• Kicking King Cam led until after half-way. Willsboro Gold was right up with him with Willsboro Gold in strong contention. Getting serious, Willsboro Gold took over, and looked the winner. But a blanket finish showed that Howards's Lady held sway.

• 1. T.O'Reilly's Cole's Decision (A. O'Reilly), 5/2
• 2. S. Buckley's Red Cam (R. Shanahan),1/1
• 3. T. Bennett's Atlantic (S.O Reilly), 6/1
• 4. J.Hill's Mass Attack (J. McSweeney), 2/1. Also ran: GT, Decisive. 2l, 6l.
• GT led them off, but soon went off stride.Cole's Decision took it up. Mass Attack challenged, but went off stride. Atlantic rallied well to take third, while Red Cam seemed happy to do just enough to qualify.

• Race 3: Heat 2, Class 002/010
• 1. M. Brickley's Ayr Strike (Owner), 5/1
• 2. T. Hill's Famous Hill (J. McSweeney), 6/1
• 3. M. O'Donovan's Run'N'Jump (Owner), 3/1
• 4. M. Healy's Southlands Merlin (Owner), 2/1. nk, 1 1/2l Also ran: Free Spirit,Staly Princed, Ynys Cernyw (1/1 fav)
• Southlands Merlin broke at the start, while Famous Hill was first away. Run'N'Jump gave chase. Free Spirit was in brief contention and Merlin got back into things. Ayr Strike was getting closer, but on the run in, it looked as if Run'N'Jump would qualify in second behind Famous Hill. But Ayr Strike kept coming and got his neck in front on the line. Ynys Cernyw did not act on the going.

• Race 4, Heat 1, All Ireland

• 1. Quill Bros's Stoneriggs Wizard (T. Murphy), 1/2 fav.
• 2. Kelleher Bros's The Blue Fox (P. Kane, jr), 2/1
• 3. J. P. O'Donovan's Coalford Jet (Amy O'Reilly), 6/1
• 4. Dunmanway Racing Club's Sharpe (J. McSweeney), 6/1. 8l, 1/2l Also ran: Crown Direct. NR: Coalford Wizard, Stubby's Fool.
• Coalford let until heading into the last bend, when Stoneriggs Wizard, which was waited with, was sent to take it up. The Blue Fox was also given a nicely timed drive, getting up in time to qualify.

• Race 5, N & E Saddle

• 1. F & N Racing's Direct Glance (Anina Tanno), 6/4jf
• 2. J. O'Mahony's Glan Teifi (J. Healy), 3/1
• 3. P. Hill's Hillside Dream (Anne Hill), 6/4 jf
• 4. K. O'Connell's Posh Paddy (Noreen McSweeney), 6/1. 6l, 5l. Also ran: Alberta, Young Clemency, King George. NR: Hilton's Genius
• Direct Glance led from the start. Alberta was in pursuit at first but Glan Teifi soon displaced her. Heading into the second circuit, the reins broke on Young Clemency and he was able to be pulled up, due to the skill of the jockey. On the back straight for the last time, Hillside Dream began to move, and after abrief head to head with Posh Paddy, set off after the leaders. Glan Teifi began to close on Direct Glance (on the homestretch) but the post came too soon.

• Race 6, Heat 3, Low Handicap, Class 010/018

• 1. M. Brickley's Stoneriggs Quail (Owner), 5/1
• 2. J. O'Sullivan/P. Hennessy's Yvonne's Princess (D. Murphy), 3/1
• 3. Travers/Dunne's Maverick (P. Kane jr), 5/1
• 4. B. Barry's Wheatley Harrier (J. McSweeney), 2/1 fav. 1/2l, 1/2l. Also ran: Sable Decision, The Orient Express, Disraeli Quest, Henry Lee Sota.
• Sable Decision broke badly at the start, upsetting Disraeli Quest. Yvonne's Princess was the first to show, and she was followed by The Orient Express. Then Stoneriggs Quail sprinted to the front and stayed there. They continued like that until just after the second-last bend. Here Maverick arrived and Yvonne's Princess slipped back to fourth. Maverick saw off The Orient Express. Entering the straight for home, Yvonne's Princess re-entered the fray, to good effect.

• Race 7, Heat 2, All Ireland

• 1. Kelleher Brothers' Newtown Commander (T. Murphy), 6/1
• 2. Quill Bros's Tom's The Man (D. Murphy), 1/4 fav.
• 3. Marge McSweeney's Home At Last (J. McSweeney), 6/1
• 4. Patricia Carey's Destiny's Dream (G. Carey), 6/1. 1/2l, 2l.Also ran: Willsboro Rose, Zidane. NR: Stoneriggs Vanity
• Tom's The Man showed briefly before yielding to Newtown Commander. Tom's The Man followed in second, Home At Last was next and they continued like that until the line. Only excitement in the race was when Zidane started his late challenge on the back straight for the last time, only to break badly as they were going into the penultimate bend.

• Race 8, Two Year Olds

• 1. Shanahan Bros's The March Hare (R. Shanahan), 4/5 fav.
• 2. G. Carey's The Biscuit (Owner), 3/1
• 3. F. Brickley's Ringo Star (M. Brickley), 6/4. 12l, 10.
• Ringo Star broke at the start, and upset The March Hare. Two from home, The March Hare took it up from The Biscuit, while Ringo Star went off stride briefly. Three lovely and promising young horses.
