He's The Man was first away, with Mack's Direct, Fleet Leader and Coalford Victory in close touch. At halfway, He's The Man, followed by Webbo, approached the turn in front but Webbo got around it first. Coalford Victory looked nicely placed but broke before this mid-point turn. Heading out the country, He's The Man regained the lead but as they came into view for the last time, Mack's Direct was in command and proved too tough for He's The Man. Good performances by Coalford Victory and Webbo.

4 horses ran -- S.P. 2/1, 4/1, evens fav. Dist.: 7L, 3L.

William's Rainbow led them off, but did not have the luckiest of races. No Better Buachaill was in front at halfway but turned badly. Crazy Hawk came out of that the best; with Bailey's Please in pursuit. William's Rainbow turned badly at the last, was making good ground to close on leader, Bailey's Please on the straight, but went off stride.

Also Ran: Today's Decision (M.Duggan) -- S.P. 4/5 Fav, 2/1, 5/1, 5/1. Dist.: 4L, 8L, 1/2L.

There was a false start in this, and in the real start, Hello Fella was first to show. Leterass de Perriers was in close contention, with Fidlin also in touch while Today's Decision slipped up at the first turn. Hello Fella rounded the midway bale in front, just ahead of Leterass de Perrier which broke right after. Fidlin then seemed the main danger to the leader, but Hello Fella was not going to be denied. A decent debut run by Fidlin.
