Howard's Lady was in control throughout most, closely tracked by Thornton Missile. But Red Cam was waited with, crept closer and on the backstraight for the last time was in 2nd. From there he surged clear to win easily, while Yvonne's Princess, not having the clearest of runs, gave chase but could not close.

Dreamland made nearly all. As they settled, Clodagh's Choice gained ascendancy briefly. Halfway round the second lap, Dreamland was back in control. Going into the last, Newtown Prediction looked threatening but could not get on terms.

Fine Art led from the start. In the early stages, Enorm Girl and Brywins Jarvis challenged, as did Only Still, which went off stride. Going into the second lap, Sable Decision moved up into second, but she never could improve on that position.

Tina's Dream (Perfect Dream/Tina's Pride) led them off, closely followed by Cam's Mathilda (Cam Security/Hi-Lo's Mathilda). Here, Jlaint Teify also showed briefly. On the straight going into the second circuit. Little Spike (Cam Security/Town End Deb) had taken over, and never looked in much danger thereafter.

Abbacrombie took command at the off and only yielded to Disraeli Quest, going for 5-out-of-5 at the end of a complete circuit. Disraeli Quest stayed in front until the business end when Home At Last surged to the front. The late effort of Just Flash got him up in time to pip Difficult Decision for runner-up, but at this stage, the winner was in no danger.

As they settled, Fool's Gold took it up from Stoneriggs Vanity, with Coalford Jet in close touch. But The Blue Fox soon sprinted to the front and opened up an unassailable lead. Coalford Jet seemed to run out of steem with 2f to go, while Coalford Wizard and Leterass de Perrier offered a tardy challenge.
