Also Ran: Stars Rainbow (J.Manning) -- S.P. 2/1, 3/1, 6/4. Dist.: 1 1/2L, 10L.

This was a re-run as in the first edition, Searchlight slipped up as they got into the first circuit. In the re-run, Star's Rainbow led them off, followed by Decisive and Springhill Arrival. Just after half-way, Decisive took over from Star's Rainbow. Staly Princed came from 4th into 2nd as they got into the last lap, and went to the front on the run-in. Springhill Arrival never really looked comfortable, while a relaxed Staly Princed enjoyed a really good drive from John Manning Jr.

Mark's Patriot tried to make all all. Webbo was in early contention as was The Bugler. Trackman was in a good position until going off stride. Going into the last, Mass Attack had moved up to third, and made his move on the stretch. She's A Gem was unsettled throughout and never looked dangerous.

Disraeli Quest led, only being briefly headed by Difficult Decision, until the business end. Coalford Cobra had crept closer and when Difficult Decision went to the front, Coalford Cobra gave chase.

You Are The Man held sway briefly until Stoneriggs Wizard, having come off stride, got back pacing to take over. The winner gave a couple of skips thereafter but he had a healthy lead, which he kept in what was the fastest qualifier of the day.

Also Ran: Ceirion She's Away (K.Sheehy) -- S.P. 4/1, 4/1, 6/4 Fav. Dist.: 1/2L, 7L.

Just Kenny led until the closing stages, while Letarass de Perrier started badly. Fool's Gold was in strong early contention but could not get on terms with Just Kennny. Going into the last, Letarass de Perrier was in second, broke, but got back trotting quickly. Credit goes to Patrick Kane, Jr for this win, as the course would not be deemed optimal for the French Trotter.

Coalford Jet was in command until The Blue Fox took over settling into the last circuit. Sharpe, which had not had the easiest of journeys thus far, got on terms briefly, but Coalford Jet rallied for runner-up.

In this final, Staly Princed led them off, but going into the second lap, Stoneriggs Wizard took command and went on to totally annihilate his rivals. Famous Hill gave chase, Coalford Cobra got closer, but it was Staly Princed, from 4th, that got up for second, and once again, full marks must go to John Manning, Jr.

Stoneriggs Vanity was first to show but Coalford Jet soon took over, and stayed in front until the dying stride. Going into the second circuit, Sharpe was in second while The Blue Fox had got closer. They continued like that, with Sharpe briefly heading Coalford Jet, until going into the last, when The Blue Fox got the better of Stoneriggs Vanity. The expected challenge from The Blue Fox (starting 55 yds off the gate) never materialised; Coalford Jet tried hard but tough Sharpe, looking ready for another round, collared the leader close home.
