Jackie Cowan marks your Dundalk card!
Dundalk Stadium, July 27th 2008
This is only a mini formguide, with what I consider only live contenders commented on, and only a few recent outings mentioned. It's mostly for armchair viewers
and punters. Have fun!
- Race 1.
- Porterstown Jack and Kouros Boy have both won twice at CT this term; Destiny's Dream and Newtown Perfection have also won one there. Springhill
Kate has won at Corbie and Flashdance is All-Ireland Saddle champion, most recently won saddle race at Camp. Dream's Place, Bon Camotion and
Home Ambrose have also been placed this season.
- Selection: Porterstown Jack
- Danger: Kouros Boy
- Best outsider: Papa Joe
- Race 2:
- I'm Just Like Mum won at AV recently and dh with Porterstown Jack at CT. Coalford Victory recently won at Drimoleague and can never be discounted.
Artcastic won at AB. Scoot's Mystery has been placed and has had every chance to do better. Fantastic Western may need the race.
- Selection: I'm Just Like Mum
- Danger: Coalford Victory
- Best outsider: Sable Decision
- Race 3
- Midnight Mover won two on the trot and was 3rd in a final and 4th last outing. Little Spike has been placed as has Hillside Dream. Lakeside Dai won a
heat at AB. Rockaround has been placed at CT. I'm For Real was 4th at CT but had been badly hampered. All In impressed in a win at York. Snatch was
3rd at AB
- Selection: All In
- Danger: I'm For Real
- Best Outsider: Snatch
- Race 4
- Frisco Titan was placed at AB. Galiano won at CT and AB. Blackwell Rambo also won at AB. Stoneriggs Wizard won at Drimoleague, while Tom's The
Man was 2nd there. Ayr Glory set a record on turf at Fir Tree last week. Unearned Income was 2nd last year to Tom's The Man in the Jug final. Panlubber
and Swingman have been placed, while Harmony P and Shadow Raider are unknown quantities.
- Selection: Tom's The Man
- Danger: Blackwell Rambo
- Best Outsider: Ayr Glory
- Race 5
- Wellfield Adam won at York recently. Man Of Luck dh at AB. Glenarn Harrier won earlier at CT and was 2nd at AB but won't like this draw. Bad Girl
Hall replaces Lakeview Security and could surprise. Disraeli Quest won saddle at Skib Show recently; earlier places.
- Selection: Wellfield Adam
- Danger: Man Of Luck
- Best Outsider: Disraeli Quest
- Race 6
- This seems to me like stick-a-pin-in-time. Catch The Magic has several places this term. Blackwell Monsoon was 3rd at TR in May. Artefact was a close
2nd at Drimoleague, and was placed earlier. Matty O is good enough for them if he relaxes.
- Selection: Catch The Magic
- Danger: Matty O
- Best Outsider: Ringo Star
- Race 7
- Sands Musical impressed when winning at Drimoleague. Springhill Horizon won at CT earlier and has been placed since. See My Reflection won at AB and
has filled the frame at York. The Biscuit has been placed this term but needs to go one better. Rhyds Mystery won a saddle race at Camp and earlier
impressed when 1st at Drimo.
- Selection: Rhyds Mystery
- Danger: See My Reflection
- Best Outsider: Springhill Horizon
- Race 8
- This is another pin-sticker, possibly best left alone. None of them seem to have won this term, except Marion Hall. (Ship's Cruiser is scratched.) Talavary
Dream was a decent 2nd to Sands Musical at Drimo. Sky Security has been placed.
- Selection: Marion Hall
- Danger: Talavary Dream
- Best Outsider: Sky Security
- Race 9
- This another one hard to call. Chesney looked the part at Drimo until easily reeled in by Rhyds Mystery. Sands Cam Ocean may have been hampered at
Drimo and was pulled up. Nice Guy Tom has had every chance to improve. Oakwood Regal still looks very green. Mr. Chapman could get closer this time.
- Selection: Chesney
- Danger: Sands Cam Ocean
- Best Outsider: Mr. Chapman
- Race 10
- Zorro Launcher was 4th at CT earlier. Only Still was 3rd there, and unpl. at Drimo. The others don't seem to have run this year, except for Rubin Launcher,
who was 2nd at CT in June.
- Selection: Rubin Launcher
- Danger: Only Still
- Best Outsider: Ontario Launcher
