Annaghmore - January 2003

"LETS GET PHYSICAL"

With just 14 weeks to the beginning of the 2003 race season at Annaghmore there's NO time to lose, so get those horses fit!! After the over-indulgence of Christmas and the New Year celebrations, most of us have made a resolution of one kind or another, good luck with whatever you wish but don't neglect your horse training.

EASTER MONDAY (April 21st 2003) will be upon us before we know it so don't get left behind!! Just remember when you take your horse out for a jog on a cold and bitter day how our friends in Cork must feel, they've been racing since early December - now that does take dedication!!

PROGRESS AT ANNAGHMORE

At the beginning of January Annaghmore took possession of a Track Conditioner brought in from the USA. The advantages of this machine will greatly benefit the track leaving a perfect and very safe racing surface. So racing times should hopefully get even faster this season.

Stables are open and bookings are being taken, if you wish to reserve a stable at Annaghmore please contact Liam Wallace on 003531 8461546 - don't delay to avoid dissapointment!!

Stand and bar/restaurant are still in the process of planning but should still be in place for the opening on Monday 21st April 2003.

FROM THE GRAPEVINE

It has been reported that the great filly "Blackwell Fabienne" owned by the Murdock Brothers of Belfast is doing well. After a bad bout of "travel sickness" during the journey to Canada, she is now back to full flight and almost "ready to rumble" (seems she only travels well on the racetrack)!!!

At present she is in the capable hands of Nat Varty who has recently switched base from Stevenson, Ontario to his own new "state of the art" training facility at Peterborough, Ontario. Watch this space for future updates!
